Picture A Week 2006
Each week a new photograph,
created within the past seven days,
appears on this page.
Week 12. Friday, March 24th, in the studio - on the flat bed scanner
Week 11. Saturday, New Orleans: One of 400 people who gathered at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She's also one of the children who has no school to attend as her former school is one of the two schools which the city plans NOT reconstruct or reopen. Needless to say this decision was not well received by the residents.

The Pontilly Visioning and Planning Conference was organized by the Pontilly Neighborhood Association and facilitated by Stitt Facilitations. For the first time residents of Gentilly Woods and Pontchatrain Park had a chance to meet face to face with and hear from the Corps of Engineers, EPA, FEMA, the School Board, Public Works officials architects and a state senator. The residents spent most of the day in processes to begin visioning a plan with consideration of: Zoning and Land Use, Parks and Open Space, Senior Housing, Infrastructure, Public Schools, Churches, Convenience Retail, Safety and Security, Levees, Public Transit, Health Facilities, Restrictive Covenant, Left-over Properties

Mr. Motes, left, a resident of Gentilly Woods lost everything when the water reached the height of his roof gutters. He's also one of the few residents of the neighborhood who's returned and received a FEMA trailer. His love and hopes for New Orleans appears evident in his Easter decorations of the trailer.
This dude seems to express the sentiments of most of the New Orleans residents.
This dude, LUGger, Chris Williams joined me, Jeffery Smith (seen below), my travelling companion, Sculptor, Seth Tyler, and what seemed like most of the NOLA police department for a Sunday breakfast at the Trolley Stop.
Week 10. Monday night, the Amtrak's Hiawatha arrives in Milwaukee.
Week 10. Tuesday morning we finally received some warmth. The moss growing on the porch rail seemed to enjoy the thaw. 100mm Apo Macro-Elarit.
Week 9. Each Monday evening, on my way to Chicago's Union Station, I walk past this window and think, "there's something photographic in that." This past Monday I put the camera to the eye and exposed a few frames with the 50mm Summilux. Didn't quite get it and and had another go with the 10-22mm the following Monday - so I guess this is really week 10 (started week 9) or something like that. At any rate this is now the wider, stronger frame.
