West Bend, Wisconsin, 40 miles Northwest of Milwaukee, with a population of less than 32,000 people, is home to the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA). A remarkable and unexpected delight sitting just East of a section of the Milwaukee River; and just west of the old train station. Tanya and I drove out there last Friday as a little daughter gifting father’s birthday celebration. A wonderful late summer, early fall, brief but spectacular road trip. Strolled a few blocks of Main Street. Had a bite of okay pseudo Mexican food. Visited The Gallery of Wisconsin Art (also a must see if you’re in the area) just across the street from the MOWA.
On the drive home Tanya spotted Honey Grove Ice Cream. Had to stop.
They’ve been tending hives and churning ice cream from the same location since 1956.
